COVID-19 Antiviral Fogging Deep Cleaner
We have taken out a contract with a highly recommended company, Cleanse Smart, who use antiviral fogging to deep clean the nursery.
As we are now well aware, COVID-19 is mo stly airborne. Disinfectant deep clean fogging doesn’t just neutralise COVID-19 on surfaces but also due to the way it is dispersed, fogging kills viruses in the air too.
COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions
To help all our families we have collated some of the questions we’ve been asked so far and have provided our answers below.
We will look to add to these regularly and update any answers should this be required.
WHEN I BRING MY CHILD INTO NURSERY, HOW MANY OTHER’S WILL BE S/HE COME INTO CONTACT WITH?
Children are already in small groups/rooms within our setting. Wherever possible phase groups will not mix during the day and outside spaces will be maximised.
WHAT SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES ARE GOING TO BE IN PLACE AND GIVEN THAT COMMUNICATING THIS TO THE CHILDREN IS CHALLENGING, HOW WILL THIS BE MANAGED?
It has been well publicised that social distancing amongst very young children is not practically possible nor in their best developmental interest. That being said we have attempted to incorporate into our operational plan as many practical measures as possible to encourage and maximise social distancing. This includes provision of meals, nappy changing, outdoor play and toileting being staggered and isolated within the space available wherever possible. We are taking other additional measures for our practitioners as outlined in our operational plan.
WILL CHILDREN/STAFF BE WEARING ANY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)?
Our practitioners will wear the usual PPE during toileting and cleaning but following the advice available face masks will not be worn around the children, unless a child is being isolated due to developing/displaying symptoms whilst at nursery.
The discussion on the wearing of PPE has been the topic of much discussion between the governing bodies. The guidance currently given is that it is inappropriate to wear a high level of PPE in an attempt to normalise the environment where possible.
DURING DROP OFF/PICK UP, HOW CAN I HELP MEET THE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES?
Procedures have been added to our operational plan to assist our parents during drop off/pickup. The following points have been drawn from our operational plan.
We will limit drop off and pick up to 1 parent per family and may stagger the timings should it become a major issue.
We will arrange drop off and pick up at the different nursery entrances to avoid parents entering the nursery unnecessarily. More specifics on the exact entrance you should use will be provided by the nursery manager prior to June 1st.
When parents are waiting to drop off or collect their child, physical distancing will be maintained in a safe area. To assist our practitioners in providing daily feedback about your child’s day we are looking to use an electronic daily diary feature and would ask that therefore that collections are as efficient as possible in the short term.
WILL REGULAR TESTING TAKE PLACE AT YOUR SETTING?
Testing for COVID-19 will not take place on site. We have been engaging with the Employer Referral Scheme to enable us to fast-track tests for our practitioners should they be needed.
WILL REGULAR TEMPERATURE CHECKS OF THE CHILDREN TAKE PLACE?
Testing the temperature of children was already in place at our nurseries linked to our first aid procedures. In light of the current environment we are requesting all our families cooperate fully with us and children are not brought into the nursery if they show any signs. We will however, be testing the children’s temperatures throughout the day on a more regular basis than previously but must appreciate that it is often the case, especially during teething, that a child may display a high temperature.
We will be issuing a health questionnaire to each parent to complete on behalf of their child prior to the return on June 1st.
